This is a story that sharply contrasts with the Old Testament in the book of Exodus on the way Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt. The story of Noah’s Ark in the Old Testament is a foundation in Gilgamesh adventure through a great flood. In both these stories, the similar concept is that man’s sin has made God angry, and He is punishing the human race. The message on the disaster to come is passed to those worth to be spared in both stories. These chosen few people are given instructions to follow God’s request and how to save themselves from the disaster. Noah of the Old Testament is advised to make an ark with fifty cubits and windows (Genesis 14:16). Gilgamesh is also instructed to tear down his house and build a boat with very high roof like the Apsu (Puncher, et al 2012)
