If a young person had a disagreement talk to them like they are young adults and demonstrate positive behaviour. by listening to there reasons and give them time to explain themselves without interrupting them or try to give them the opportunity to resolve the disagreement themselves. You will have to be a bit more firm, consistent but fair at this age as children do like to push their boundaries so its a good idea to set some ground rules and let them know what sort of behaviour is expected and the consequences if there not followed.
