| September 2009 To those in the church who come unselfishly and gave their time and muscles to help with the building of our addition.
A great big thank you!!! Marty and Cheryl Shaw and family April 2009 Dear Board Members; The Sutton Senior Center’s Food Pantry sincerely thanks you for once again making a donation for families in Sutton who look to us for help. March 10, 2009 A special thanks to the FCCS:
FCCS hosted the kickoff event for Children Helping Children in August 2008. These 17 children, (eight of whom are from the FCCS family) raised $2,310 to help build and staff schools in rural Pakistan and Afghanistan. FCCS members and friends donated $295 from collections, hosted more fund raising efforts, and supported the other events held by the children. The Sunday School children collected coins adding up to $71.24 and donated them.
After five months of fund raising, the money was donated to Central Asia Institute (Pennies for Peace) who has built over 60 schools and provides staff and supplies to keep them going. The schools not only provide education to those who would otherwise have none, but it is also a peace building effort. The areas where Central Asia Institute works is the recruiting region for Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
This $2,310 was a Christmas gift to world peace from all of us. Thank you for helping and encouraging us in an endeavor to defeat terrorism peacefully. Sincerely, Paula Hutchinson On behalf of Children Helping Children

I thought back to this past March during a sermon by Rev. Snow. She asked each person that day to take a puzzle piece from a basket. She challenged us to go find where our puzzle piece as it represented us, fit into the FCC community and family. Since receiving this challenge, I found more than a place for me to fit my piece of the puzzle; I found a “family” within my church that supports my efforts, provides a safe place to speak freely, encourages me everyday with their spirit, and provides reassuring guidance to continue developing in a “rich” community of extraordinary people.
When you are ready to fit your puzzle piece onto the board, your FCC family is waiting to welcome you. Everyone is accepted and included. The daily dues are a deposit of love - love of God and family. Kevin Martus, FCC Member, July 2008
Dear Friends at the First Congregational Church, I would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU for all of your support to the Sutton Food Pantry. Because of your support, I am able to offer items such as jelly, cereal, and cans of veggies and so on. Lately, there has been an increase of families in need of food. We are currently serving on average, 11 families/individuals per week. We are also providing 42 families with Thanksgiving meals. I would also like to say THANK YOU for donating many Thanksgiving food items for our baskets. The youth at First Congregational did a DYNAMITE job with their project of collecting items for the Pantry! You really know how to show the Holiday Spirit! THANK YOU!!!
